Questions people ask us

The short honest versions of what people ask before they put Alvrun in front of their customers.

What is Alvrun?

Alvrun is an AI support agent for your website. You paste your web address, it reads your public pages and starts answering your customers' questions in a chat, in your customers' own languages. When it isn't sure about something, it hands the conversation to you instead of guessing.

How does it learn about my business?

It reads the pages your customers can already see: your FAQ, pricing, shipping and returns pages, help articles and so on. After you sign up it reads more of your site, and you can teach it anything that isn't published, like opening hours over the holidays or how you handle a special case. Every answer you give when it hands a question to you is remembered too, so it gets better the longer you use it.

What happens when it doesn't know the answer?

It says so, and asks the customer if they'd like the team to follow up. You get an email with the question and can reply from your phone. Your reply lands straight in the customer's chat if they're still there, and goes to their email if they've left. It never invents a price, a policy or a promise.

Will it make things up, like other AI chatbots?

No, and that is the whole point. Alvrun only answers from what your website says and what you've taught it. If the answer isn't there, it hands over to a human rather than guessing. You can read every conversation it has, so you can check this yourself.

Do my customers know they're talking to AI?

Yes, always. The chat carries an AI label, every AI answer is marked as AI, and when you reply to a handed-over question your answer is marked as coming from your team. It is one or the other, never something in between, and if someone asks the agent whether it is AI, it says yes. This is also what EU transparency rules require, so you don't have to think about it.

How long does setup take?

The demo takes under a minute: paste your web address and start asking questions. Going live is one line of code on your website, or no code at all if you use the hosted support page we give you. Most people are done well inside ten minutes.

What does it cost?

$49 a month, including 200 answered conversations, and it steps up from there as you grow. Before that it is free for 14 days on your own site with no card, and the demo needs no account at all. You pay only when Alvrun actually answers someone: a question it hands to you instead does not count. The pricing page spells out exactly what counts.

What languages does it work in?

All of them, on the answering side. Your customers write in whatever language they like and get answers in that language, even if your website is written in another one. A Swedish site can answer a German customer in German. The only fixed part is the small text around the chat, buttons and placeholders, which is hand written in eight languages rather than machine translated, and falls back to English beyond those.

What kinds of questions can't it answer?

Anything that depends on who is asking: where is my order, why did my payment fail, what plan am I on. It recognises those questions and hands them to you rather than guessing at someone's account. Answering them automatically would need access to your order system, which is on our roadmap but deliberately not in this version.

Can people trick it into talking about other things?

It is locked to your business. Ask it to write JavaScript, share a recipe or weigh in on the news and it says, politely, that it only helps with questions about you. Messages that try to give it new instructions are treated as text to respond to, not commands to follow, and we test that with a suite of known attacks. There are also rate limits and a daily spending cap per business, so nobody can run up your bill by hammering the chat.

Does it work on my website platform?

If you can add one line of code to your site, it works: Shopify, WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, Webflow, or anything custom. And if you can't add code at all, every business also gets a hosted support page on alvrun.com you can link to from anywhere.

Can my customers get answers through ChatGPT?

Yes, once it is connected. Every business gets a link that lets an AI assistant ask its support agent directly, so the answer comes from you with your sources rather than from whatever the assistant can piece together. It is the same knowledge as the chat on your site and the same rule about not guessing. Alvrun is listed in the official MCP registry so assistants and the tools around them can find it, but a person still chooses to connect it: nothing starts speaking for your business on its own. The AI assistants page walks through it.

What is MCP?

The Model Context Protocol, the standard that lets AI assistants reach knowledge outside themselves. Your connection link speaks it, which is how ChatGPT and Claude can ask your support agent a question. You never have to think about it: copy the link from Settings and paste it where your assistant asks for one.

What happens to my data and my customers' conversations?

Your content stays yours, and we never use it to train AI models or for any other customer. Everything is stored in the EU, in Stockholm. Conversations are kept so the agent can learn and you can read them back, and you can ask us to delete anything. The privacy policy lists every supplier that touches data and what each one does.

What happens to my demo if I don't sign up?

It is deleted automatically after 7 days, along with everything it learned. Nothing hangs around waiting for you.

Who is behind Alvrun?

Glauser Creative AB, a Swedish company. Alvrun grew out of years of answering support for our own product, Minutemailer, and is named after a real person. The about page tells that story.
